30How do I fold and unfold the bike?Riding&Battery

Refer to the included user manual. You can also follow our social media accounts, where we will share related instructions.

31Can I ride without assistance or when the battery is empty?Riding&Battery

Yes. The bike works as a normal bicycle without assistance or when the battery is empty. Pedalling may feel slightly heavier because of motor drag.

32How well does the bike climb hills?Riding&Battery

The bike handles inclines of 15° at assistance level 5.

33Is a battery included with the e-bike?Riding&Battery

Each bike comes with one battery. It is packed in the box; insert it into the seat tube when preparing the bike for use.

34What is the battery lifespan, and how long does charging take?Riding&Battery

We use branded cells. The battery provides at least 80% capacity after 1,000 complete charge–discharge cycles. With proper care, that cycle count can at least double.

The battery is rated for 1,000+ cycles, and a full charge takes 3–4 hours.

35Is the charger compatible with EU power sockets?Riding&Battery

Yes. An EU Type F plug is included, for 220–240V power supplies.

36How does the bike perform in low temperatures?Riding&Battery

The bike still works in cold weather, but battery performance and range decrease, and riding may feel less smooth than in warmer conditions.

  • Optimal operating range: 0°C to 40°C (32°F to 104°F)
  • Charging: the battery cannot be charged below 0°C (32°F)
  • Protection: the system will not operate below −10°C (14°F) to protect the battery

For best performance, store and charge the battery indoors at room temperature.

37Should I charge the battery even when I rarely use it?Riding&Battery

Even with infrequent use, the recommended cycle every 1–2 months is to fully charge the battery, discharge it to its cutoff voltage, and then recharge it to 70%.

38How do I charge a RYD e-bike?Riding&Battery

The battery is removable. You can charge it while it is on the bike, or remove it and charge it separately.

39Where can I find my bike ID or frame number?Care & support

The frame or serial number is the unique physical identifier of your bike. It is located on the bottom bracket.

40Can the battery be replaced or serviced, and how much does a replacement cost?Care & support

RYD e-bikes have a removable battery that can be replaced when service is needed. Contact service@rydbike.com first so our team can check the fault and recommend the quickest solution. Improper handling may void the warranty.

During the 1-year battery warranty, a failed battery is replaced free of charge, and we cover the costs of a battery fault.

After the warranty expires, you can buy a replacement by emailing service@rydbike.com. The price is approximately €200–€300, depending on the e-bike model and market conditions.

Stock is limited, and priority servicing is given to customers with in-warranty claims.

41How should I maintain the bike?Care & support

For standard repairs and maintenance, such as fixing a puncture or replacing brake pads, you can visit a local bike shop. Make sure the shop is familiar with hydraulic brake systems. Detailed maintenance information is also included in the user manual.

42How can I repair a puncture and reduce the risk of future punctures?Care & support

We have prepared tutorials for replacing the front or rear inner tube. You can also take the bike to a local bike shop.

Check tyre pressure regularly. The Aero 16 has a rear-mounted motor, so approach kerbs and bumps carefully. We recommend standing on the pedals when riding over bumps to shift more weight towards the front wheel and distribute the load more evenly.

43How long is the warranty?Care & support

Most parts have a 2-year warranty, provided there is no damage caused by the user. See our warranty section for the detailed warranty period for each component.

44What should I do if my bike breaks after the warranty expires?Care & support

Contact the RYD Aero 16 support team at service@rydbike.com first. We will advise whether you should visit a local bike shop or purchase a replacement part from us.

45What should I do if parts are damaged, missing, or incorrect on arrival?Care & support

Take photos first, then contact service@rydbike.com so our customer support team can help resolve the issue.

46How should I store and care for the bike during colder months?Care & support

Cold weather drains the battery more quickly. Bring it indoors when possible. The battery will not turn on below −10°C.

If you will not ride for a while, remove and fully charge the battery, and store the bike indoors or in a garage. Keep the battery at room temperature and away from humidity, and give it a full recharge once a month.

Service the Aero 16 regularly. Contact service@rydbike.com for maintenance advice.

47Can I fit accessories to my bike?Care & support

Yes, but check compatibility before installation. RYD is not responsible for damage caused by non-RYD accessories.

48Which components or accessories can I change myself?Care & support

You can change components or accessories, such as fitting a softer saddle. However, those component or accessory changes are no longer covered by the warranty.
